This July Bible reading plan is created especially for anyone who has experienced failure, brokenness, loss, or a deep longing for a new beginning. With just 10–15 minutes of daily reading, we will begin with David’s repentance, Nehemiah’s work of rebuilding, and Ezekiel’s vision of dry bones returning to life. We will then enter the promises of Isaiah and the welcoming embrace of the father in Luke 15, discovering how God turns mourning into joy and brings reconciliation to broken relationships. At some point in life, most of us have taken a wrong turn, made painful mistakes, or found ourselves facing circumstances that seem far too broken to repair. Yet our God is the God of second chances.

This month’s reading journey is filled with hope—the hope of being rebuilt, restored, and given new life even when all we can see are ruins.

The July reading plan unfolds through four powerful and comforting stages:

• Deliverance and Rebuilding amid Ruins (July 1–10): We will begin with the Israelites suffering under oppression in Egypt, David facing disaster at Ziklag in 1 Samuel 30, and David’s sincere repentance after his sin in 2 Samuel 12. We will then follow Nehemiah as he weeps, prays, takes courageous action, and begins rebuilding Jerusalem’s broken walls. These passages remind us that no situation is too desperate for God to redeem and no breach is too deep for Him to repair.

• Songs and Promises of Repentance, Comfort, and Revival (July 11–24): We will witness Job’s restoration in Job 42, pray through David’s unforgettable confession in Psalm 51, and receive the tender promises of Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and Joel. God promises to give beauty for ashes, breathe life into dry bones, heal wounded places, and restore the years that have been lost.

• Welcome and Transformation in the New Testament (July 25–28): In Luke 15, we will see a loving father run to embrace his returning son. In John 21, we will watch Jesus gently restore Peter after his three denials. Then, in 2 Corinthians 5, we will receive the life-changing declaration that anyone who is in Christ is a new creature.

• The Courage to Reconcile and Embrace (July 29–31): We will follow Jacob’s journey from deceiving Esau in Genesis 27, to wrestling with God at Peniel in Genesis 32, and finally to the moving reunion in Genesis 33, where the two brothers embrace and weep together.

Whatever has happened in the past, God is able to write a new chapter. Bring Him your true story, your regrets, and your hopes, and allow Him to lead you forward again.

• A Broken and Contrite Heart God Will Not Despise: Experience the cleansing and freedom that come through honest repentance as David prays, “Create in me a clean heart, O God,” in Psalm 51.

💡 Suggestions for Your July Devotional Journey:

1. Pray without hiding behind appearances:
   As you read Psalm 51 on July 12, come before God without covering your weakness or excusing your mistakes. Ask Him honestly:
   “Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.”

2. Receive your identity as a new creature:
   When you read 2 Corinthians 5:17 on July 27, do not allow past guilt to define who you are. Remind yourself aloud:
   “Old things are passed away. In Christ, I am a new creature.”

3. Pray for healing in a broken relationship:
   As you read about Jacob and Esau embracing on July 31, bring an unresolved relationship before God. Ask Him for wisdom, humility, healing, and the courage to take a faithful step toward reconciliation.
